Getaway 475 Spearo (15 foot 6 inches)

The Getaway 475 spearo is a boat built using the getaway 495 hull that has been cut down to accommodate the preferences of spearo’s. The boat has a centre console which accommodates 4 spugs or drums of fuel, it has a fish hatch / seating box / skippers seating designed to utilise space to its maximum without cluttering the boat. The gunnels have 3 horizontal glassed in rod holders / spear gun holders on each side of the boat there are Rail blazer base brackets installed on top of each of the rod holders. The anchor hatch and the skippers seating box are the only cushion and upholstery on the boat. The low hatches at the back of the boat allow the divers to fall comfortably and safely backwards into the water when diving. There is a deck mounting bracket bolted onto the back of the starboard side of the transom that accommodates an extension ladder for ease of getting back into the boat from the water. The Starboard back hatch accommodates the battery and the underdeck access duct connecting the underside of the console. The control cables and electrics will service and control the motor from the side of this box. The port rear hatch is split in two, the one compartment is a designed as a live bait well that goes through the deck down to the hull where there are 2 plugs that can be opened that flood the compartment and continuously exchange the water in the flooded compartment with fresh water from under the hull of the boat. The other compartment can be used either as a spare storage hatch or an ice box which has a drain plug installed on the side which drains melted ice onto the deck, which in turn just drains off the wet deck through the scuppers. The boat has a stainless roll bar protecting the motor, stainless grab rails on the seating box / fish hatch and stainless grab rails on the side of the skipper’s seat. There is a functional and aesthetic stainless bow rail. The console can be fitted wit a T top incorporating rod holders or a conventional windscreen and stainless wrap over grab rail. The boat is built primarily as a spearfishing boat, but it can also do a really great job of being a light game fishing boat
