Tug 20 (13 feet)

The Tug 20 is the most popular of the Tug range options. This is an iconic little cathedral hull designed boat. This boat can be transported on the back of a single cab bakkie or an extended cab bakkie. Pmb trailer and boat make a very nice trailer for this model Tug also. It is relatively light and can be handled / moved easily by 2 persons. This boat is unbelievably stable and carries a lot of weight for its relative size. I was told by the original designer/ builder of the boat that they once put 19 grown adults on a Tug 20 in the shallows at midmar dam before it started taking on water.

I am most certainly not advocating overloading this or any boat, but I mention this to illustrate its weight bearing ability. Common sense must always be used when boating. With safety as a first and primary objective.

There have been countless and too many deck variations to mention or even to recall incorporating all sorts of designs for all sorts of needs and requirements over the years. This boat is a modular build and as such we can incorporate almost anything that you desire for a job / need that you may have, either for recreational use or for commercial use. The transom is designed to accommodate a short shaft motor, but we can build it to accommodate a long shaft motor on request. We have recently incorporated a duck bill scupper and drain plug into the transom making this boat a semi wet deck. It will self-drain water if the bow is raised, it will also self-drain once the boat is on the plain, but at slow speeds or stationery the duck bill scupper is below the water line of the boat and will therefore not self-drain.

The standard layout of this boat includes a glassed in deck floor, rear glassed in boxes on the port and starboard side of the boat and a casting deck glassed in, in the front of the boat. It also includes 2 removable bolted in bench seats in the middle of the boat.

If you have an idea or a specific design that you require that needs to be incorporated into a build, please contact us or an agent to discuss the options and possibilities.
